Nearly half of a four year pilot program for medical cannabis is about spent and the chief supporter in the house says there needs to be an extension. Illinois News Network has more:

The law went into effect early last year with patients applying for permits to use the drug. More than three-hundred investors from in and out of state paid five-million dollars in non refundable fees but licenses have not been issued. The program is set to expire at the first of the year, 2018.
