Certain Restaurants Menu Displays To Change By End of Year

Ever wonder exactly how many calories you take in when you dine out? Well, by the end of 2015, certain restaurants are going to have to inform customers of the calories that are on their menu.

Eating out has become an easy and convenient option for many people despite the high calorie content of many restaurant entrees. Monica Nyman, with the St. Louis District Dairy Council, explains any restaurant with more than 20 locations will be required to list the calorie content of each entree on their menus by November.

Many dieticians are supportive of the new concept because of the importance of this kind of information finally being available. Nyman notes the freedom of many options will still be available to the food consumer.

Nyman adds there are also several calorie counter phone apps available to those who like to watch their daily calorie intake.
