Clinton Police Chief Recognizes Fallen Officers

Today marks National Peace Officers Memorial Day for police departments around the U.S.

National Police Week has been held during the past week and has recognized law enforcement in local communities. Clinton Police Chief Ben Lowers notes every May 15th marks the day police remember officers who have died in the line of duty.

There have been a few officers killed in the line of duty in Clinton and DeWitt County over the years. Chief Lowers pays tribute to those fallen officers.

Despite the public scrutiny many police departments have gone through in the past few months natioanlly, Chief Lowers would like to pay thanks to every man and woman who risk their lives to protect their communities.
