Illinois First Appellate Court Decision Keeps State Employee Checks For Now

Illinois' First District Appellate Court this morning decided to vacate the Cook County Circuit Court's order to pay certain state employees at minimum wage, so for the time being all state employees can continue to get paychecks.

Comptroller Leslie Geissler Munger said that today's ruling removes any conflict between Court decisions and allows her office to continue paying all state employees for their work. She added that her priority has been to comply with federal mandates and she said she'll do everything in her power under the law to pay workers for services they are already providing the state.
