Kobe Reported Cleared For Basketball Activities

It has not been a good couple of years for Kobe Bryant. At the end of an individually fantastic 2012-13 season, the Los Angeles Lakers star ruptured his Achilles' tendon.

When he tried to come back from that injury, he was only able to play six games in the 2013-14 season before a fracture in his knee effectively ended his season. Then in the 2014-15 season, Bryant played in just 35 games before a torn rotator cuff and surgery to repair it ended his season.

As we head into possibly his final NBA season, it looks like Bryant will have a full bill of health. According to Kevin Ding of Bleacher Report, Kobe has been "medically cleared for all basketball activities."

Kobe is entering his 20th season in the NBA, and if it is going to be his last season, the majority of basketball fans want to see him on the court as much as possible. He's only played in a quarter of games the last two seasons and another injury-plagued season just wouldn't be a fitting end to what has obviously been a historic, Hall of Fame career. Being fully cleared medically is a great sign for Bryant.

In his last healthy season (before he missed the final few games with a ruptured Achilles' tendon), Bryant averaged 27.3 points on 46.3 percent from the field. Over the last two seasons, he's averaged 21.1 points on 37.8 percent from the field.
