Kentucky, North Carolina Top Coaches Preseason Poll

 width=Kentucky and North Carolina finished in a tie for No. 1 in the first coaches poll balloting of the 2015-16 season, with Maryland, Duke and Kansas rounding out the top five.

The Tar Heels earned one more first-place vote (12) than the Wildcats, but each team collected 749 points from the ballots of 32 Division I coaches. The Terps, Devils and Jayhawks were the only other teams to collect first-place votes.

The ACC and Big 12 have three teams in the top ten. Gonzaga starts the year ranked 11th followed by Wichita State.

A couple surprises to the top 25 could be Cal and Vanderbilt at 14 and 20, respectively. The SECs LSU is ranked 19th.

With only Maryland being the only Big Ten team in the top 10, the conference has four teams in the top 25 overall.
