No hearings in the House this week but the Senate will hold two hearings hearings with one being being a joint hearing of the Senate Public Health and Appropriations committees.

The meeting Tuesday afternoon in Chicago will hear testimony on Senate Bill 2178 and how the budget impasse is affecting local health departments. SB 2178 appropriates $17 million from the General Revenue Fund for local health protection grants.

Meanwhile Wednesday in Chicago the the Senate Education committee will delve into House Joint Resolution 101 that would disapprove certain school district requests for waivers related to transitional bilingual education, the Illinois Kindergarten Individual Development Survey, non-resident tuition, general state aid and instructional time.

Both the House and Senate aren’t back in full session until November 10th.
