Clinton Edges Calvary At Williamsville Tournament

The Clinton Maroons used a tremendous fourth quarter effort, and a last second shot, to down Springfield Calvary 53-52 Monday morning at the Williamsville Holiday Tournament.

Clinton trailed throughout much of the contest.  They were down by 8 at half, and down by 9 after three quarters, but an 18 to 8 fourth quarter was enough to secure the win.  Peyton McCubbin hit the game winning 3-pointer with 2.9 seconds left in the game.

Clinton was led by McCubbin's 20 points.  Jacob Overton also dropped in 16 for the Maroons.  Overton scored his 1000th career point on a 3-pointer in the 4th quarter of today's contest.  He now has 1001 points as a Maroon.

Clinton improves to 5-7 with the win.  They next play Dee-Mack Tuesday at noon at the Williamsville Holiday Tournament.

Our next Maroons Game of the Week broadcast on WHOW is Tuesday, Jan 5, as the Maroons host LeRoy.
