The Medicine Shoppe's location, 217 South Main Street in downtown Farmer City, was an eye sore. According to Mayor Mike Jenkins (center in picture right), the city and community coming together to make the location a more appealing is going to keep up with their efforts to continue to build up their downtown.

The DeWitt County Development Council's Mark Killough was instrumental in getting the Medicine Shoppe to downtown Farmer City. Killough says he worked hard for many years to get a service into Farmer City that community was telling them they wanted.

Mayor Jenkins calls Main Street the "heart of Farmer City" and is pleased with all the progress but says that's just the heart of what is happening in the community.

Holtz looks forward to implementing more programs in the future. She plans to bring imminuzizations to their pharmacy for cold and flu season. She also has other plans in the works, such as availability to consult during allergy season, so as to be more of a resource in the community.
