The idea of a Henry County student is now law in Illinois. Governor Bruce Rauner recently signed House Bill 4432, which will allow students an excused absence for sounding ‘taps’ at military honors ceremonies for deceased veterans. The measure was inspired by Jack Bumann and sponsored by State Representative Don Moffitt.
Bumann is entering his senior year at Alwood High School in Woodhull.
