Five people are dead after a car entered the path of a train in Christian County, near Pana.
State Police investigators say a 79-year-old Pana man entered the tracks on a county road near Illinois Route 16.
The impact killed three of the victims at the scene. The remaining victims died later after being airlifted to St. Louis area hospitals.
The victims were in their upper 70's and upper 80's and all resided in Pana. They are:
