Clinton Power Station Returns to Full Power

Operators returned Clinton Power Station to full power Sunday after completing a brief maintenance outage that began Dec. 9.

During the outage, technicians replaced and tested a small electrical transformer.

The unit was synchronized to the grid at 5:13 p.m. Friday and reached full power Sunday.

Clinton Station is located approximately six miles east of Clinton, Illinois.

The nuclear energy plant produces 1,069 megawatts at full power – enough electricity to power about 1 million typical homes.
