Clinton Boy Scouts Return to Apple n' Pork Weekend for Fundraising

If you purchased an apple cake at this last weekend's Apple n' Pork Festival, you supported the Clinton Boy Scouts.

Crystal Cicenas indicates the yearly funds from their apple cake sales help pay for the opportunities of the scouts throughout the year. She explains they the kids that help out during the two-day festival can have nearly all of their yearly activities paid for.

Despite the challenges of COVID in the last 18 months, the Boy Scouts have met the challenges they've faced. Cicenas indicates the scouts were able to attend summer camp this year and 11 of their 22 scouts leveled up in their scout ranks and accumulated more badges.

According to Cicenas, the Boy Scouts did not find much of a drop-off at all in participation for numbers of members during COVID. She says while the Zoom meetings were challenging, the Scouts tried to meet outside as much as possible.

Cicenas points anyone interested in joining the Cub Scouts or the Boy Scouts by finding Clinton Troop 1142 on Facebook.
