Monticello Tops St. Joseph-Ogden

The Monticello Sages shot 68% from the floor and used a big third quarter to propel them past St. Joe-Ogden, 62-59, Tuesday night in Okaw Valley Conference action.
 
The Sages were led by Zach Fisher's 28 points. Isiah Florey, making a rare starting appearance, contributed 14 points and five rebounds. 
 
Noah Freemon dished out six assists and Sutton Witterbottom added five dimes for the Sages. 
 
Of the Sages 27 field goals, 21 were in the paint as Monticello dominated the low post 42-28 and shot 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. 
 
Brandon Trimble led the Spartans with 29 points. Kohlten Johnson added 14 points and six rebounds. 
 
The Sages improve to 13-5 overall and 3-2 in Okaw play. The Spartans drop to 11-8 overall and are 2-3 in Okaw Valley Conference play.
 
The Sages are at Rantoul Friday night at 7:30 pm.
