Blue Ridge Sweeps Weekend Twin Bill With Fisher

The Blue Ridge Knights scored 19-runs in the first four innings in a 19-0 route of Fisher in Heart of Illinois Conference boys baseball action from Saturday.

 

Ben Williamson paced the Knights bats finishing 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

Isaac Trotter finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs and a run. Calvin Florey and Thomas Hardesty each finished 2-for-4. Hardesty drove in three and Florey two. Hardesty also scored three times.

 

Cory Jayne finished 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs.

 

Every Knights starter recorded a hit.

 

Jayne also went five innings on the mound allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits, issuing three walks and striking out five.

 

The game was considered the makeup of a conference game for both squads, with the win, Blue Ridge is now 8-1 in the HOI.

 

In the second game, a three-run sixth inning lifted the Knights past Fisher, 5-2.

 

Dylan Lytel broke a 2-2 with a 2-run double and Alec Lyle brought him in with an RBI single.

 

Caleb Trotter picked up the win with six innings or two-run ball. He walked three and struck out three and allowed just two hits.

 

Williamson pitched the seventh for the save.

 

The Knights are 15-8 overall.
