The Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals solved Nolan Hickman to the tune of five unanswered runs Friday afternoon as Warrensburg-Latham topped Clinton, 5-1 in Central Illinois Conference boys baseball action from Warrensburg-Latham High School.
Hickman went seven innings, allowing five runs, four earned on seven hits with no walks and nine strikeouts.
Collin Swallow went the distance for the Cardinals, allowing a run on four hits with no walks and six strikeouts.
Levi Nettles and Mac Hickman each had a hit for the Maroons.
Austin Hardin tallied a two-RBI double and Garrett Shea hit a solo home run to lead Warrensburg-Latham.
The Cardinals improve to 17-5 overall and 6-2 in CIC play while Clinton drops to 3-17 overall and 0-10 in CIC play.
