Lady Sages Comeback Falls Short Against St. Joe-Ogden

As heard on WEZC Monday night, a ten-point fourth quarter deficit was cut to two with under one minute left, but Monticello's comeback fell-short against St. Joseph-Ogden, 49-46 in Okaw Valley girls basketball action.
 
The Lady Spartans scored 13 points in the fourth quarter, all from the free throw line, finishing 13-for-20 from the line in the fourth.
 
The Lady Sages comeback was fueled by nine fourth quarter points from Marissa McPike, who finished with 11. Rachael Lockmiller and Emma Reeder scored seven of their nine points in the second half.
 
Tatum McCall added seven points.
 
The Lady Spartans were led by Sydney Kelso's 15 points, all from three point range, with each one coming at crucial juncture's in the game. 
 
The Lady Sages never led as they dropped to 2-2 in the Okaw Valley Conference and 14-4 overall.
 
The Lady Spartans improved to 13-6 overall.
 
Monticello returns to action Thursday night when they travel to Maroa-Forsyth.
