Lady Sages win first basketball game 60-25

The Lady Monticello Sages had their first game putting up a defensive wall holding LeRoy to just 25 points for their first win of 60-25.

The Sages opener to the season did not disappoint as the Sages were able to hold the LeRoy Panthers to just under 20 in the first quarter. Coach Beery said, "he was pleased with how they play for their first game." Monticello had all players get some playing time, Lexi Fisher led the Sages in points with 17 points, Rennie Fultz followed with 13, and Cloe Clark had 12.

The Panthers struggled to get points until late in the first quarter thanks to a three-point shot from Charley Warlow who led the Panthers in points with 8, followed by Kiera Spratt with 6, and Layna Spratt with 4.

Next game for the Lady Sages is at home against the Charleston Trojans Monday, November 19.
