Starting 5-0 for the first time in 35 years is going to have to wait as the Clinton Maroons were rolled by the Tuscola Warriors 41-6 Friday night in Central Illinois Conference high school football action from Tuscola.
As heard on WHOW and at dewittdailynews.com, the Maroons were led by the Nate Ennis State Farm Player of the Game Clayton Welch who had 6 catches for 45 yards. Garrett Wayne had 10 carries for 62 yards, was 10 of 21 passing for 21 yards, and one interception. Tyrese Petty had 9 carries for 23 yards.
The Warriors were led by Logan Tabling with 14 carries, 103 yards, 3 touchdowns, was 8 of 17 passing, for 73 yards.
With the loss, Clinton falls to 4-1 on the season and 2-1 in the conference. Tuscola improves to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
