Monticello Boys Basketball Team Opens Season at Pleasant Plains

Off a 21-8 record last year, the Sages will look to replace four seniors in their starting lineup and will look to replace two starters that averaged in double figures.

Ryan Reeder returns who averaged 7.5 points per game as a junior. Garrett Kepley was having a terrific junior campaign before a broken hand derailed his progress mid-way through the season. He will likely start in the backcourt with Reeder.

The Sages figure to rely more on seniors Ethan Miller, Brett Macak and Briggs Fultz who saw minutes at the varsity level last year as well.

Senior Nick Vogolzang, juniors Andrew Rudolph and Joel Edmondson will likely be the first off the bench for depth.

Plains finished 24-10 overall last year and lost to GCMS in the sectional final. The Sages lost to GCMS in the Regional final in Class 2A.

Game time tonight is 7:30 pm and can be heard on 95.9 FM WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com.
