Clinton's Mallory Cyrulik Named Second Team All-State

Clinton High School senior basketball star Mallory Cyrulik has been named a second team all-state selection in Class 2A by the AP Wednesday.

Cyrulik led the Lady Maroons to a 27-6 record, the most in school history, and is one of the program's leading scorers with over 1,000 career points.

Chicago Noble Butler had two first-team selections with Camille Jackson and Ximiya Walton. Abbey Schreacke from Quincy Notre Dame, Miyah Brown from Winnebago, and Jilian Hamilton from Pana were first-team selections.

Cyrulik was joined on the second team by Alecia Doyle from Carterville, Ellie Cahill from Eureka, Ashlyn May from Fieldcrest and Caydee Kirkham from Illini West.

Lincoln High School's Kloe Froebe was a first-team selection in Class 3A. Froebe led the Lady Railsplitters to one of the most successful seasons in school history with a recent Class 3A Sectional final loss to Mahomet-Seymour.

Mahomet-Seymour's Cayla Koerner was an honorable mention selection.

The girl's basketball state finals open today (Thursday) at Redbird Arena in Normal.
