It may not sound like a great finish but two young Clinton Maroons squads finished in the top-20 of a meet with better than 50 teams competing.
Both cross country teams finished 19th Saturday morning from Detweiler Park in Peoria where the state finals run is held.
Making the accomplishment more impressive is the fact none of the schools competing are divided in class, so everyone is lumped together in finishes regardless of school size.
Drew Moser was the top finisher of either team, finishing with the 36th overall time of 16-minutes and 32 seconds. It was his best finish at Detweiler.
Several boy's runners set personal bests times at the Peoria course including Talan Thrasher, Jade Carlos Gustafson, Ollie Goar, Colin Jameson, Abel Koritz, Preston Daniels, Dyllon Wright, Jarrett Turney, and Logan Newberg.
Carter Blankenship and Migeulangel Mendoza ran new personal bests while Kael Morlock tied his personal best on Saturday.
MaKayla Koeppel finished a girl's team-best 40th overall with a time of 19-minutes and 52-seconds. Amerie Hemphill, Addie Koritz, Missy Hale, Lydia Cahill, Maddi Leonard, and Grace Duke set new course records at Detweiler.
Avarie Brown set a personal best time on Saturday for the girls.
The Maroons travel to Tuscola on Saturday.
