The Normal West Wildcats used a stout defense all year to run the table and clinch the Big 12 regular season title.

Coach Nate Fincham is hoping that defense can help lead his 8-1 Wildcats deep into the Class 6A postseason. 

For Coach Fincham, his team will get at least one extra week of practice thanks to having a first round playoff matchup and he stresses to his players that this is a unique opportunity and you have to appreciate it.

Normal West will host Big 12 conference member Danville at 1 pm on Saturday afternoon. The two teams did not meet in the regular season this year.

Danville finished the regular season 6-3.
