HS GBBall: Decatur St. Teresa Rolls Monticello

In a game heard on WEZC and at dewittdailynews.com, Lucy Corly scored 15 of her 25 points in the second half propelling Decatur St. Teresa over Monticello 45-20 in non-conference high school girl's basketball Monday from the Sievers Center at Monticello High School.

 

Corly scored eight points in the opening frame staking St. T to a 14-3 lead. Both teams struggled offensively in the second quarter but St. T put things away in the third quarter, opening up a 41-13 lead after three and hit a 30-point advantage early in the fourth quarter to active the running clock the rest of the way.

 

Monticello was paced by Jobi Smith's 10 points. Maia High grabbed ten rebounds. 

 

St. T moves to 5-5 overall while Monticello falls to 4-8.

 

It's off to Holiday Hoopla action for Monticello next week Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. They will play two games Monday, a game Tuesday afternoon and its placement game Wednesday.
