Heidi Humble was a double short of the cycle for Clinton but the Shelbyville Lady Rams pounded out 23 hits and 19 runs in a 19-9 victory over the Lady Maroons Thursday afternoon in Central Illinois Conference high school girl's softball action.
Mallory Holland went 5-for-5 for the Lady Rams. She drove in seven runs and scored three times. Alex Jokisch went 5-for-5 with five RBIs and scored a run.
Humble finished 3-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Reice McCormick was a home run short of the cycle, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored for Clinton. Alaina Soberalski doubled and Brooke Reeves scored three runs.
Shelbyville is 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the CIC.
Clinton drops to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in the CIC. The Lady Maroons are at the Spring Slam softball tournament Saturday at the University of Illinois Springfield.
