A late rally by Monticello fell short as the Mattoon took home a 6-4 non-conference win in high school girl's softball action in Mattoon.

Monticello fell behind 6-0 but rallied with four runs in the sixth inning. Isabella Beery, Lynnsey Trybom, Cassidee Stoffel, and Avery Schweitzer drove in runs in the four-run frame. 

Lucy Leatherwood and Sadie Walsh added hits for Monticello. Walsh's double was the only extra-base hit for the Lady Sages. 

Monticello wraps up the regular season 10-15 overall and will head to the postseason hosting Clinton in a Regional quarterfinal game on Monday afternoon.
