HS FBall: Lincoln Transitioning to New Conference Hoping Experience Carries Them

The Lincoln Railsplitters football team is hoping experience will lead them through a new conference and new schedule this fall.

Coach Matt Silkowski indicates his team was rather young last year in its pursuit to return to the postseason.

Coach Silkowski feels his team showed a hunger to work hard and get better this summer. He felt it was a fun summer for his team.

For Coach Silkowski, the summer was somewhat multifacitet. He explains his team needed to learn to overcome adversity with a positive attitude but in the process, the rule changes for 11-on-11 competitions allowed them to get a look at their entire team and he feels they might just be ahead of schedule for this fall.

Coach Silkowski really likes his team this year. He says his skill position players are very dynamic and he has a very steady presence at his quarterback position.

Numbers in the Railsplitters program are up this year. Coach Silkowski says that is a good sign for his team as they return to the Central State Eight.

Lincoln takes on Springfield Lanphier in week one.
