The Clinton Maroons are hoping to take the Central Illinois Conference by storm this fall and it starts tonight when the 2023 high school season opens at Sprague Field at Clinton High School when the Maroons host Tremont.

In his third year at the helm of the program, Coach Ron Bass says this summer was one of the best off-seasons they've had.

The Maroons will have a great deal of experience on their side when they take the field tonight. Coach Bass says most of their skill position players are back this year and they've seen a lot of competition at other spots on the field.

The Turks are under a first-year head coach and are a young team. Coach Bass says it reminds him a lot of his team last year.
