Plenty of Pipeline Players Should Make Impact For Illini This Year

The Illinois pipeline will be on full display this season as the Illini kicks off its season this Saturday against Toledo.

Illini HQs Bob Asmussen says two of the more veteran Illinois natives are from the Danville area.

Malik Elzy is a freshman from Chicago Simeon could see some usage this season at wide receiver and Asmussen says if it wasn't for the depth at receiver for Illinois, he could see him being one of the more impactful freshman receivers Illinois has had in a long time.

Central Illinoisans are going to be watching for Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond product Kaden Feagin. While he may not see the lionshare of carries right away, Asmussesen says there's no question the freshman is very skilled.

Central Illinoisans have also been rooting for defensive lineman Bryce Barnes who hails from Gibson City. Asmussen says he's a great story and is an easy Illini to root for.

Rochester native Hank Beatty could find himself in the receiver rotation for Illinois. Redshirt freshman runningback Aiden Laughery is another Central Illinois native who is on scholarship at Illinois.

Junior tight end Ben Schultz is a Champaign Central graduate.
