Two Clinton Golfers Headed To State

Clinton High School was well represented at the Class 2A Golf Sectionals Monday, and they're sending two individuals to State this weekend.

Senior Brooks Cluver shot a 76 at Kellogg Golf Course in Peoria to advance as an individual to state.  The cut line was a 76 which Maroons Coach John Reynolds says is a really low number for a 2A sectionals.  Clinton Senior Aiden Toohill shot a 79 for 21st place overall at Sectionals, but did not advance.

On the girls side, Clinton Senior Sarah Mills shot an 88 Monday at Lakeshore Golf Course in Taylorville to advance as an individual to state.  It's believed Mills is the second Clinton girls golfer to ever make it to state. Junior Carley Earle shot 100 for a tie for 50th.  She did not advance this year.

Cluver will play Weibring Course at ISU in Normal at State Friday and Saturday 10-6 & 10-7.

Mills will play Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur at State Friday and Saturday 10-6 & 10-7.
