Coming into this high school golf season, Clinton High School golfer Brooks Cluver had two goals - be more mentally tough and make the state tournament.
This weekend, Cluver can check both of those boxes from this season. The senior credits his ability to be better mentally to make the state tournament this weekend and make the cut for day two of the state finals.
Cluver's state tournament started strong but then the weather got bad Friday - however - he credits that mental fortitude to rebound finishing just outside the top 10 and making the cut for Saturday.
Cluver has committed to play golf at Illinois Central College in Peoria. He also participates in basketball and baseball at Clinton High School.
He is the son of Rennie and Stephanie Cluver in Clinton.
