A shot at winning the Central Illinois Conference is something the Clinton Maroons varsity football team has worked for and earned this fall.

It's all been a part of the learning process for Clinton football coach Ron Bass who was very pleased his team did not look past Warrensburg-Latham Friday night and rolled its way to a 48-24 win.

For Coach Bass, the Maroons are playing with house money Friday night when they host Shelbyville for what will be the Central Illinois Conference championship.

At 5-2, the Maroons can only improve their seeding with wins the rest of the way. After they host Shelbyville Friday, they travel to Pontiac to wrap up the regular season.
