Monticello dropped a disappointing 22-17 decision to Paxton-Buckley-Loda on the road last Friday night and now heads to Prairie Central needing just one win in the final two weeks of the season to qualify for a postseason spot.
Coach Cully Welter took last week's loss pretty hard but indicated he was pleased with his team's effort, especially on defense.
Prairie Central has been a run first offense the last several years but with a first year head coach, the Hawks are spreading things out this fall. Coach Welter says its a balanced offense with a lot of playmakers.
