The Clinton Maroons have a chance to do something tonight that hasn't been done in years in Clinton - win a football conference championship.

Tonight Clinton and Shelbyville enter play with unblemished marks in the Central Illinois Conference. Coach Ron Bass liked the way his team set the tone early to get out to a big lead on Warrensburg-Latham last week.

Tonight, the Maroons will have their hands full with a high-powered Shelbyville offense that can really spread the football and make plays starting with their second-year quarterback.

The Maroons have qualified for the postseason for the first time since 2019. Coach Bass says its nice to have that benchmark reached and his team is looking forward to the matchup ahead.
