HS VBall: Monticello Gets Bounce Back Win Over Olympia

In a game heard on WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com, Monticello rebounded from a slow start and took home a win over Olympia in three sets, 25-27, 25-23, and 25-17 in non-conference high school girl's volleyball from the Sievers Center in Monticello.

After a rough weekend at the Champaign St. Thomas Moore tournament, Coach Kim Allison was very pleased with how her team showed the fight they have had all season.

For Coach Allison, this team is different from teams of the past as they don't seem to get down on themselves even if they fall behind. She calls beating Olympia a very good win.

Junior Sierrah Downey was named the game's ServPro of Piatt/DeWitt County Player of the Game for leading a mid-second set rally and for her play at the net.

Monticello wraps up the regular season Thursday at IVC. They then head to Regional action next Monday at the Tolono Unity Regional taking on Meridian. If they advance, they will play Tuesday night against Champaign St. Thomas More.
