HS FBALL: Clinton Defeats Pontiac

As heard on WHOW, the Clinton Maroons defeated the Pontiac Indians by a score of 49-8 on Friday night.

 

The Maroons were led by Mason Walker who was 4 of 6 passing for 122 yards and 123 yards rushing. Walker also had 1 rushing and 1 passing touchdown. Tristin Potts had 16 carries for 176 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. Colton Walker was named the ServPro DeWitt-Piatt Counties Player of the Game with 2 interceptions and 1 receiving touchdown. Walker set the school record for interceptions in a season with 7. Logan Thoms had 1 interception for a touchdown.

 

Pontiac was led by Alvin Delong who was 7 of 15 passing for 74 yards. Amare Curtis has 21 carries for 76 yards. Curtis also had a 2 yard touchdown run for Pontiac's lone score.

 

With the win, the Maroons improve to 6-3 overall guaranteeing a postseason appearance. With the loss, Pontiac drops to 2-7.
