The Big 12 champion Normal Community Ironmen have used strangling defense and a high-powered offense to roll through its regular season 9-0 and a top seed in the Class 7A playoffs.

Coach Jason Drengwitz credits the work his team put in during the offseason to the success they experienced this year on the football field.

Because the Ironmen have practiced so well all year, Coach Drengwitz believes that has allowed his team to improve in all three phases of the game all season long.

One of the strengths of the Ironmen this year has been their ability to not turn the football over and Coach Drengwitz says they need to continue to do that throughout the playoffs.

Normal Community opens the postseason with Summit-Argo Friday night at Normal Community High School at 7 pm.
