HS BBALL: Clinton Outlasts Lexington; Stays Unbeaten

In a game heard on WHOW Saturday night, the Clinton Maroons defeated the Lexington Minutemen, 50-43, in a nonconference boys basketball game at the Eureka Shootout at Eureka College.  

The game was a close, back and forth affair through three and a half quarters.  Clinton jumped out to a 12-6 lead after the first, but Lexington would warm up in the second quarter, and tie it at 21 apiece at the half.  The Maroons managed a three point lead, 32-29, after three, and then would pull away in the fourth. Clinton would lead by as many as eleven points in the final quarter, and hold on for the seven point victory. 
 

The Maroons were led by Mason Walker with 17 points.  Brooks Cluver added 13, and was named the WHOW / Serv Pro of Piatt/DeWitt County Player of the Game.  Keaton Graves also had nine points, and Dawson Graves added seven for the now (10-0) Maroons. 
 

Lexington was led by Ethan Storm's 17 points. The Minutemen fall to (8-3) on the season, and next play Wilmington on December 26th. 
 

Clinton next puts their 10-game win streak on the line at home against Leroy on Tuesday night.  Hear the action around 7:30pm Tuesday on all WHOW platforms.
