HS GBBall: Monticello Falls Short in Hoopla Opener

The Neoga Lady Indians used a big second quarter to pull away from Monticello 54-36 in the opener of the Holiday Hoopla in girl's high school basketball action in Monticello Tuesday morning.

 

Monticello stayed with Neoga early, trailing 13-12 after the first quarter but a 20-6 second quarter allowed the Lady Indians to pull to a 33-18 halftime lead and never looked back.

 

Brynn Richards paced Neoga with 21 points. Haylee Campbell added 15 points.

 

Maia High recorded a double-double with 12 and 11 rebounds points to Pace the Lady Sages. Megan Allen also scored 12 points and Ali Weidner scored eight. 

 

The Lady Sages will take on Ridgeview tonight at 6 pm in the second game of its Holiday Hoopla schedule.
