HS GBBall: Clinton Overcomes Slow Start to Top Mt. Pulaski

A slow first quarter wasn't enough to stop Clinton Monday night as the Lady Maroons rolled to a 51-33 lead over Mt. Pulaski from Clinton High School in non-conference high school girls basketball action.

 

The Lady Hilltoppers led 14-7 after the first quarter but the Lady Maroons outscored Mt. Pulaski 44-19 the rest of the way.

 

Clara Dempsey led Clinton with 18 points. Regan Filkin and MaKayla Koeppel scored eight points apiece.

 

With the win, Clinton goes to 18-11 overall and Mt. Pulaski drops to 19-9.

 

The Lady Maroons will host Cerro Gordo-Bement tomorrow night (Wednesday) in non-conference play. Hear the action on WHOW and all its digital platforms.
