In a game heard Monday night on WHOW, the Clinton Lady Maroons fell to the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Lady Chiefs, 40-28, in a Class 2A Regional semifinal at Clinton High School.
The Lady Chiefs jumped in front early to lead, 16-9, after the first quarter. They managed to gradually build on that lead throughout the game; going up by nine at the half; by eleven after three; and holding on for the twelve point win.
Dee-Mack was led by Elise Hahn's 13 points, while Mackenzie Knowles and Dalia DeJesus had eight points each. The Lady Chiefs improve to 30-2 on the year, and advance to Thursday night's regional championship.
The Lady Maroons were led by Clara Dempsey with 11 points. She was named the WHOW / Serv Pro of Piatt/DeWitt County Lady Maroons Player of the Game. Reagan Filkin also added 9 for Clinton, whose season ends at 21-12 on the year.
