The Normal West baseball squad split a twin bill in Alabam Monday afternoon taking home a 7-3 over Shelby County and then dropped a 7-4 decision to Gibson County out of Tennessee.
The Wildcats scored six runs in the sixth inning of the opener to break open a 3-1 game. Trent Druham doubled and drove in two for Normal West while Sam DesCarpentrie and Bradyn Whitehead each had three hits. DesCarpentrie added a pair of RBIs.
Blake Crancer stole two bases in the opener.
Crancer would add three hits including a pair of doubles, a pair of runs and drove in a run in the second game of the day. He also stole two bases.
Normal West is 2-4 on the season. The Wildcats return to action today for a single game at 2 pm in the Gulf Shores of Alabama.
