Sam DesCarpentrie and Blake Crancer paced a big offensive effort for Normal West in a 13-1 win over Westview (TN) on Wednesday in the Gulf Shores Alabama Tournament in four innings.

Normal West scored ten runs in the first inning. esCarpentrie and Crancer each had two RBI's in the inning while Alex Olsen, Sam McCulley, Sam Beirne, and Trent Durham each drove in a run. 

DesCarpentrie finished the day with three RBI's, and McCulley and Beirne each picked up an additional RBI after the 10-run first inning. 

Sam Beirne picked up the win on the mound as he went 2 1/3 innings allowing one run on four hits. He struck out five and walked two. DesCarpentrie came on to pitch the final 1 2/3 innings allowing no runs on two hits while striking out three and walking one. 

The Wildcats are now 3-5 on the season. Normal West concludes tournament action today.
