Alex Olsen went the distance and Normal West wrapped up a strong southern spring break road trip with a 9-0 win over GW-Long from the Gulf Shores Tournament in Alabama Thursday morning.

Olsen was effective in his six innings allowing only a hit on two walks with two strikeouts.

Sam DesCarpentrie doubled twice finishing 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Blake Crancer was 1-for-3 with three runs scored and stole two bases.

Sean Jenkins was 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs for the Wildcats who came to Alabama winless in four tries and went 4-1 in the Gulf Shores to go to 4-5 overall. 

Normal West returns home to open Big 12 action with Urbana Monday and Wednesday of next week.
