Jonah Roper struck out ten in 4 1/3 innings of relief as Normal Community took advantage of erratic Champaign Central pitching Friday in an 8-5 Big 12 Conference win from Normal in high school baseball action.
Roper allowed an unearned run and allowed three hits.
The Ironmen drew 12 walks in total Friday. Ryan Theile drove in three runs finishing 1-for-2. Luke Drengwitz and Riley Hendren drew three walks apiece as only four of Normal's eight runs were credited to RBIs.
Hendren scored three runs. Kyle Beaty was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
The Ironmen move to 11-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big 12. They are back in action today taking on Dunlap.
