HS Baseball: Mt. Pulaski Rolls Past Decatur MacArthur

Mt. Pulaski scored eight runs in the sixth inning and ten ruled Decatur MacArthur 16-0 in six innings Saturday in Decatur.

 

Eric Cooper paced the Hilltoppers' offense going 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Landon Smith and Chance Payne each doubled twice. Payne drove in three runs while Liam Smith was 1-for-3 with three RBIs. 

 

Four Hilltoppers pitchers combined for six innings of shutout ball. Luke Martin got the start and struck out four in two innings of perfect work. Cooper struck out three in two innings of scoreless relief.

 

Tyler Cross and Franklin Wade scored three runs each for Mt. Pulaski.

 

The Hilltoppers stay perfect on the season at 9-0 and will travel to Cerro Gordo-Bement on Tuesday.
