Junior Tanner Perry shined Sunday as Illinois State picked up the series sweep over Valparaiso, 6-0, on Sunday at Duffy Bass Field.
Perry recorded his fourth win of the season, striking out a season-high 10 Beacons (10-19 overall, 2-7 MVC), as the junior allowed no runs and only two hits over his outing.
The Redbirds (17-11 overall, 7-2 MVC) finished with 12 hits on the afternoon, including two hits from four batters and a pair of RBIs from senior Auggie Rasmussen.
Greg Nichols doubled home a pair of Redbirds to make it a 3-0 ball game in the second inning.
Since being swept by then No. 9 Vanderbilt in early March and a ten-run rule loss to Indiana that following week, the Redbirds have won 9 of 12 overall.
Illinois State is scheduled to travel to Illinois Tuesday (6:00 p.m. CT), Western Illinois Wednesday (3:00 p.m. CT) and Evansville April 12-14.
