Springfield High started fast and held off Lincoln 11-1 in Central State Eight high school baseball from Springfield on Tuesday.

The Senators put up seven runs in the first two frames and closed out the win with four more runs in the sixth inning to take home the run-rule win. 

Wes Tedrick brought home the only run for the Railsplitters in a pinch-hit appearance. Drew Haynes and Colby Glenn doubled for Lincoln. Michael Lucas was 2-for-3 with a triple and run scored.

The Railsplitters are 5-6 overall and 2-2 in the Central State Eight. They host Champaign Central on Thursday.
