HS Baseball: Fast Start Gets Normal Community By Champaign Centennial

Normal Community scored ten runs in the first two frames and never looked back as they rolled to a 12-5 win over Champaign Centennial in Big 12 baseball action in Champaign Friday afternoon.

 

Dexter Niekamp drove in four runs, Ryan Thiele tripled and drove in two while Owen Cavanaugh doubled and drove in a pair for the Ironmen.

 

Normal took two from Centennial this week in Big 12 play. 

 

Kyle Beaty struck out six in four innings of one-run ball. Parker Michels permitted three unearned runs with four strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings of relief.

 

Normal is 14-0 overall and improves to 4-0 in the Big 12. They travel to Bradley-Bourbonnais on Saturday before a showdown with in-town rival Normal West on Monday and Wednesday next week.
