Bradley-Bourbonnais swept Normal Community in a non-conference
showdown Saturday in Bourbonnais 8-6 and 8-5.
In the opener, the Ironmen jumped out to a 5-0 lead but the Boilermakers answered to score three runs in the third inning cutting it to a 5-3 deficit, and scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to finish the win.
No Boilermakers pitcher went more than three innings.
Anthony Gura finished 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in the opener.
Lucas Drengwitz and Dexter Niekamp had RBIs for the Ironmen in the first game.
In the second game, the Boilermakers used six arms to hold off the Ironmen.
Ben Schweigert was 1-for-3 with an RBI double for Normal. Parker Michels, Drew Stevens, Alex Herren, and Connor Kearfott hit doubles for the Ironmen.
Normal suffered its first two losses of the season to go to 15-2 overall. They take on Normal West on Monday and Wednesday in Big 12 action.
